Jarrett Herron is an eighth grader at St. Patrick Catholic High School with a busy schedule. When he isn't playing linebacker on the JV football team, Jarrett is studying. Throughout his entire school career he has maintained Honor Roll all while being involved on campus. Outside of school, Jarrett is an active member of the Impact Youth Group at Northwood Church. He is a regular attendant of the small group sessions and worship services and even sings with the worship team!
This past July, Jarrett traveled with the youth group on their mission trip to the Atlanta Dream Center where they shared their love of God with children who were less fortunate. Because of his desire to impact the lives of others, Jarrett was determined to go and saved his own money to fund his part of the trip.
"Just the short amount of time I spent experiencing the life those kids live everyday, made me realize all the things I take for granted” says Jarrett. “I just wanted to show them that God loves them just like He loves me. That they are important.”
What more could Jarrett have time for? Well, acting of course! Jarrett has landed the lead role in several of his school plays, supporting roles in community theater, and starred in a locally produced film premiering at The 48 Hour Film Project in New Orleans.
"Jarrett has always had an appreciation for all types of music and theater” says Erin Skaggs, Jarrett’s mom. “He has a natural passion for singing and acting that we have encouraged from a young age. But most importantly, Jarrett has a heart to serve others."
With his drive and excellent time management skills, we know Jarrett will accomplish many more milestones. Jarrett was nominated by Dr. Frigo and has been awarded a plaque and a $250 gift card to Edgewater Mall from Frigo Orthodontics.
