On a Mission...

I am on a mission!  I am determined to develop a plan, which will not only provide my patients with a beautiful smile and an excellent occlusion, but one that will also afford my patients the opportunity to live a successful life of significance and enable them to receive a college scholarship! Integral to the success of this plan is your active participation. What’s at stake is an investment opportunity that far exceeds those returns experienced by even the savviest investor! The rising cost of college education and the failure to plan for retirement can result in a disastrous mix. In addition, even those fortunate families that have planned for these costs or enrolled into a college savings plan cannot guarantee how the child will perform upon enrolling into college. So even if you have made financial arrangements for your child, now it’s time to ensure that they perform after you drop them off!

The components of my plan will revolve around the tenants of goal-setting, time management, leadership training, confidence building techniques, study skill improvement techniques, and littered throughout these postings will be information on orthodontics and dental health. Each posting will be succinct and filled with value, generally giving you an action step for you and/or your child to take within twenty-four hours. My goal is to help you avoid the common, and not-so-common, pitfalls that often beset even the most industrious parents in their quest to help their children achieve success and arm you with the latest techniques to facilitate successful child development.

The first step in achieving success in any endeavor is to begin with the end in mind! That said; let us begin our journey with goal setting techniques sure to have a tremendous positive affect on the development of your child. Help your child pick a specific realistic goal that can be measured and accomplished in the next three months. Post the goal and its deadline date somewhere conspicuous that can be viewed by him/her every day. List a few action steps that will help accomplish the goal and begin tracking the performance of those action steps each day. Finally, help your child each day by ‘pretending’ or more appropriately, visualizing that the deadline has passed and he or she has successfully accomplished the goal! Celebrate together each day and before you know it, you will not have to pretend! In conclusion, if you do not reach the goal, no problem! Just adjust the bar so that you can hit it on the next try. What is important here is not so much the successful completion of a goal, but more important is the fact that you have introduced positive habits that will forever help mold his or her life! Good luck and send me some feedback and pictures of your goals and experience!
