WHY SHOULD I BRUSH WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF EATING?

WHY SHOULD I BRUSH WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF EATING?
Bacteria are living microorganisms, so they must eat to survive.  When you eat foods that contain sugars and carbohydrates, the bacteria in your mouth begins to eat those substances. It then takes 30 minutes to digest those substances. They are converted into acid and then that acid is released onto your teeth.  When bacteria are not stopped and begin to multiply, they begin to accumulate into groups on the teeth around braces.  This is called plaque.  Plaque causes tooth decay and gingivitis if left in the mouth. Make sure to brush within 30 minutes of eating or drinking to prevent that bacteria from forming plaque that can harm your beautiful smile!

WHY ARE THERE WHITE SPOTS ON MY TEETH NOW THAT MY BRACES HAVE BEEN REMOVED?
When bacteria are not removed immediately after eating, they begin to accumulate as plaque on the surfaces of the teeth that are not covered by braces.  The braces protect the surface of the tooth that they are bonded to by not allowing bacteria to accumulate in that specific spot on the tooth.  When plaque sits on teeth around braces, the acid that is produced begins to decay the first layer of the teeth and therefore creates white spots that are lighter than the other surfaces of the teeth.

HOW DO I PREVENT WHITE SPOTS?
In order to prevent tooth decay and white spots, when braces are removed, then you must brush at all the proper angles, within 30 minutes of eating. By doing this, you ensure the removal of plaque and bacteria on all surfaces of the teeth.
